Teradici annonce une carte PCoIP offload pour servers View

Teradici Announces PC-over-IP® Server Offload Cards for VMware View™ -- Significant Data Center Scalability and Operating Expense Savings Enabled with Upcoming PCIe, Mezzanine Cards -- VMworld 2010 Conference

SAN FRANCISCO -Today at VMworld 2010, Teradici® Corporation, the industry leader in delivering a true PC experience over standard IP networks, announced plans to introduce new server offload cards for VMware View, providing an innovative set of features and benefits to the desktop virtualization industry and end-user computing.

“As organizations continue along the path toward IT as a service, CIOs are looking for innovative ways to maximize their virtual desktop environments. The upcoming PCoIP server offload cards will enable VMware View™ customers to increase scalability and reduce operational costs”

Based on Teradici’s hardware acceleration technology for desktop virtualization, the PCIe and mezzanine server offload cards will deliver a high virtual desktop consolidation ratio enabling significant increases in the number of VDI sessions per server compared to non-accelerated systems.

“As organizations continue along the path toward IT as a service, CIOs are looking for innovative ways to maximize their virtual desktop environments. The upcoming PCoIP server offload cards will enable VMware View™ customers to increase scalability and reduce operational costs,” said Vittorio Viarengo, vice president, End-User Computing Products, VMware.

“By using hardware compression to offload the PCoIP protocol processing, the PCoIP server offload cards will significantly increase the number of users per server, enabling significant datacenter power and space savings all while providing an enhanced user experience,” said Trent Punnett, vice president, Marketing and Product Management, Teradici Corporation.

The PCoIP server offload cards will be fully integrated into servers with VMware vSphere™, managed by VMware View and will be compatible with existing PCoIP zero clients and VMware View software clients.
