Public Transportation Company Leverages FalconStor Software for Business Continuity and Synchronous Replication of its Virtualized Server Environment
PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FalconStor Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: FALC), the provider of TOTALLY Open™ data protection solutions, today announced that SETAO, the public transportation company of Orleans, has chosen FalconStor® Network Storage Server (NSS) Virtual Appliance for storage virtualization and to provide business continuity of its virtualized server environment.
SETAO runs the public transportation network of buses and streetcars for the greater metropolitan area of Orleans, transporting about 100,000 passengers a day and providing information about traffic conditions for the entire network of buses and tramways, in real time. SETAO virtualized its server environment, and to enable full redundancy of its infrastructure, added two AXIOM 500 storage systems. Wanting to effectively address the issue of business continuity, SETAO deployed FalconStor NSS Virtual Appliance to provide synchronous replication to ensure a high-availability information system.

SETAO’s IT team needed a storage virtualization tool which could completely integrate itself into the existing virtualized server environment. The solution also needed to be simple enough so that any member of the IT team would be capable of immediately activating the business continuity plan. Pillar Data Systems recommended FalconStor NSS Virtual Appliance, which SETAO tested for thirty days. The installation took place seamlessly and worked immediately. The performance of the system was so impressive that it became the production platform.
